PARTNER ORGANISATIONS

The Kenyan Voluntary Development Association is an indigenous, non-political, non-profit making organisation founded in 1962. KVDA seeks to promote intercultural education, peace and solidarity as well as sustainable community development through voluntary service. The organisation runs a wide range of projects, many of which take place in very rural areas.

TYPES OF PROGRAMMES

  • North South – MTV: If you would like further information about KVDA or the projects that they run, Concordia can put you in touch with people who have recently returned from the country and who are happy to be contacted.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Visa: required. Visas may be obtained on arrival by air with a cash payment of 50 US Dollars or in advance from Kenyan representation in the UK. Please visit www.fco.gov.uk for more information.
  • Arrival info: There is an orientation meeting in Nairobi the day prior to the start of the project, after which the group travels together to the project. KVDA can organise cheap accommodation prior to and after the project and will also meet volunteers at the airport.
