IWO believes that all people are capable of living together with mutual respect and without recourse to any form of violence to solve conflicts. One of IWO’s dreams is to host an international volunteer project together with North Korea, after the future unification of the Korean peninsula.
- KNCU - Korean National Commission for UNESCO http://www.unesco.or.kr/eng/
The Republic of Korea became UNESCO's 55th member state in 1950 and KNCU was subsequently founded in 1954. It is composed of 60 members and its main activities include drafting recommendations to the government, conducting research and disseminating information in a number of fields: education; natural sciences; social and human sciences; culture; communication; and youth. One of their regular activities is the International Youth Camp.
All projects offered by KNCU are part of the International Youth Camp. This was established in 1996 and is now an annual tradition; bringing young people together to foster international understanding and promote ideas of peace, human rights, cultural heritage and sustainable development.
