  • DEM - Ecologists’ Movement of Macedonia Youth

DEM is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organisation. It is a national organisation that includes 30 local environmental NGOs as full members and 16 other organisations as associate members. It was established in 1990 as a necessity to co-ordinate the activities of existing local groups. Since 1994, each local group formed their own youth club which made up a branch of DEM known as DEM Youth. DEM Youth is a member of the South-East European Youth Network (SEEYN).

The Youth Culture Centre Bitola and Youth Forum Eye Struga alsoorganise workcamps in Macedonia and are members of the South-East European Youth Network.

SEEYN (www.seeyn.org) was born in 2000 and consists of 11 very different organisations who share a common belief in voluntarism, exchanges and co-operation between borders. Through their work, SEEYN hope to challenge the stereotypes that many people still hold of the region and believe that international volunteer projects are a good way in which to do this.
