Youth organisation formed in 1994. Around 30 members live and work together in a small self-sufficient community outside Dar es Salaam. It is a well-established organisation with experienced staff and volunteers.
TYPES OF PROGRAMMES
- North South
- Volunteers will be involved in community development projects: including tree planting, classroom construction and community outreach. For four of the afternoons, workshops based around certain topics will be organised and for the other four, outreach visits to specific groups within the community will be organised.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Visa: UK citizens will require a visa to enter Tanzania. This can be obtained from the Tanzania High Commission in London or on entry to the country. Please visit www.fco.gov.uk for more information.
- Arrival info: date of arrival is the start date scheduled for the project.
- Uvikiuta are also able to organise safaris before or after the project for volunteers. Please contact the office if you would like us to send you more details about this.
