And if you have any enquiries, you can come and visit us on the 19th August, when Concordia will be open to the public from 12pm to 5pm. This a good opportunity to enquire about volunteer projects abroad and have a cup of tea and snacks with Concordia staff! We will be happy to assist you with all the queries you might have.

CONCORDIA POST SEASON EVENT IN OCTOBER

Concordia is very happy to host the annual Post Season Event in Brighton from the 24th to the 26th October.  The weekend is an opportunity to meet the volunteers after the summer season, do some evaluations, know about further opportunities with Concordia, volunteer in the Brighton area and most of all have a good time together!

For more information contact the office on 01273 422218 or email: francescob@concordia-iye.org.uk

Want to volunteer between 6 months and 12 months and not have to pay for it?

Concordia can arrange long-term volunteering placements funded through the European Voluntary Service (EVS) Programme. If you are aged between 18-30 you can apply to volunteer in Europe for a period of 6 to 12 months. The type of placement varies from conservation work to social work and you choose those which fit your interests and experience. Travel and living expenses are covered by the scheme.

If you would like to talk to someone about the programme or get an application form please call Fiona Taylor on 01273 425513 or email fiona@concordia-iye.org.uk

Alternatively, visit the EVS website: www.sosforevs.org to view details of placements before contacting Concordia. Young people living in the south east of England or with experience of volunteering on short-term projects with Concordia are encouraged to apply.

RUSSIAN OPPORTUNITY

  • Would you like to go to Russia for 6 months and get all your travel, food and accommodation paid for?
  • Can you speak some Russian?
  • Would you like to improve your Russian?
  • Have you the skills to teach English to Russian students?
  • Have you 6 months to spare?

If the answer is yes, then you can call the office on 01273 422218 for more information or send an email to fiona@concordia-iye.org.uk

DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD

If you are working towards your Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award you can gain the Residential Project part of this award through Concordia.

All our short term volunteering projects count as Gold Residential Projects and can be used towards gaining your Gold Award.

It’s very simple: just let us know at Concordia that you are using your volunteering project for your Residential part of the Gold Award and once you are home from the project overseas we can fill in an Access Credit Note and issue you with a certificate to confirm that you have been on a Residential Project. All we need is your individual number which can be found inside your Gold Award book. Alternatively you can send in a photocopy of your Gold Award book.

For more information please contact fiona@concordia-iye.org.uk
